Privacy policy

Last updated: 25 September 2026

This policy applies to the “Dinori” app for Android (Google Play, package name com.snailpacegames.dinori) and to this website. The version for iPhone and iPad will follow later. The information on iOS and iPadOS applies from the time the app is published in the App Store.

The key points in brief

1. Controller

Snailpace Games GmbH
Lionstraße 8
04177 Leipzig, Germany
Email: support@dinori.de

Further details can be found in the Legal notice (Impressum). We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not required to do so.

2. What the app stores on the device

The app stores game progress exclusively in the app’s protected storage area on the device:

DataPurposeLocation
Profiles: an avatar from a fixed selection, an age level chosen by parents and an optional name or nicknameSeveral children can play on the same devicedevice only
Game progress: stars, excavated dinosaurs, park, finds, levels reached in the mini-gamesCarrying on where the child left offdevice only
Learning history per profile: results in the learning games (for example, which number tasks were solved)Adapting the difficulty to the child; display for parents in the parents’ areadevice only
Settings: language, voice, music and sound effects, play-time reminderOperation of the appdevice only
Purchase status: “Full version unlocked: yes/no”Being able to play offlinedevice only, encrypted

This data is not transmitted to us or to third parties. We have no access to it. Deleting a profile deletes its data; uninstalling the app deletes all data. The game progress can be reset at any time in the parents’ area. A profile name is optional. A nickname, or no name at all, is enough.

Device backups: On Android, automatic app backup is switched off for Dinori. On iOS and iPadOS, the operating system may include app data in an iCloud or computer backup if you have enabled this on the device. This is controlled by the device, not the app. Apple’s privacy information applies to iCloud.

3. Purchase of the full version

Dinori is free and includes a demo. The full version is unlocked through a one-off in-app purchase. The purchase is handled by the respective store:

In doing so, the store processes the data needed for the purchase, such as account, payment method and receipt. We receive no payment details and no name. The app only learns from the store whether the full version has been purchased for the account in use. The app requests this status from the store when it starts and via “Restore purchase” in the parents’ area.

The legal basis for this request is the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): without it, the purchased full version cannot be unlocked. The store’s sales reports show us how often Dinori has been bought, but not who bought it.

4. Voice output

Dinori is fully voiced: Pip’s lines are included in the app as audio recordings. If a recording is missing for a language or voice, for example while the English voice-over is still being recorded, the app uses the operating system’s speech output (text-to-speech). In that case, the app only passes on the fixed, prewritten line from the game, never input or data from the child. On iOS, speech output takes place on the device. On Android, this depends on the text-to-speech engine set on the device. The usual engine works with voices installed on the device.

5. What the app does not do

The app works fully offline. The internet is only needed to purchase and restore the full version.

6. Children

Dinori is aimed at children aged 3 to 8. On Android, the app takes part in Google Play’s “Designed for Families” programme. We do not knowingly collect, store or transmit personal data from children, either within the meaning of the US COPPA (children under 13) or within the meaning of Art. 8 GDPR.

The purchase of the full version, all settings and all links can only be reached after solving a sum written out in words that is unsuitable for young children (parental gate). In addition, the store requires confirmation from the account holder when a purchase is made.

If you believe that we nevertheless hold data about a child, please write to us at support@dinori.de. We will delete such data immediately.

7. Permissions

The app does not request any permissions that you would need to confirm. It only uses:

Permission / functionPurpose
Purchase via the store (Android: com.android.vending.BILLING, iOS: StoreKit)Purchasing and restoring the full version
Internet access (no prompt)Only for communicating with the store
Keep screen on (no prompt)The screen does not switch off during play
